I ain’t paying for a film either, part four

As a miserable sod who hates parting with money and with plenty of time on my hands I thought I’d go through the Net and look for short alt films, funded on a shoe string, mainly from Patreon and other crowd source sites. Now we turn to fans take on Comics and how they’ve bought them to life.

Superman: Red Son- 24 Nov 2013

Kal -El was sent from Krypton some twenty minutes before the original Superman stories, and he landed in Ukraine, not Kansas in 1938. Lex Luther is the only hope of the West, Batman is a counter revolutionary terrorist. Forget “truth, justice and the American way”, as the adopted Son of Stalin, the Man of Steel is the “Champion of the common worker who fights a never ending battle for Stalin, socialism and the international expansion of the Warsaw Pact”.

28 Days Later: Aftermath – 28 Jun 2008

A full story from the 28 Days Later: The Aftermath graphic novel that explores how the Rage virus was created.

I Am Legend: Shelter - 16 Oct 2008

To add drama to the movie, the producers of I AM LEGEND made some animated comic movies based on other parts of the US and the World. Basically these animated comics showed the straggles, desperation and other experiences of other survivors.

Batman: Death of the Family – 28 Apr 2014

A one off Batman story, and possibly the darkest one I have ever read. Originally made as a High School media project, it is a superb effort.
