Flatulence - or farting as many people say

Phil the test manager, Going Postal

What is it: (Courtesy of Wiki)

Flatulence is defined in the medical literature as "flatus expelled through the anus or the "quality or state of being flatulent" which is defined in turn as "marked by or affected with gases generated in the intestine or stomach; likely to cause digestive flatulence" The root of these words is from the Latin flatus – "a blowing, a breaking wind" Flatus is also the medical word for gas generated in the stomach or bowels These standard definitions do not reflect the fact that a proportion of intestinal gas may be composed of swallowed environmental air, and hence flatus is not totally generated in the stomach or bowels. The scientific study of this area of medicine is termed flatology.

Some basic facts about farting:

The average human farts 14 times a day. (I guess I am nowhere near average in this respect, 14 times before I leave for work in the morning)

You fart enough to fill a balloon each day! Woah!

Each fart travels at about 7 miles per hour. That’s pretty fast!

Only 1% of each fart smells bad at all. The other part has no odour!

Scottish independence - "Och Aye the Noo Jimmy"

This week we have learned that Scotland is now running a budget deficit of over £15billion per year, with total public spending of over £68billion per year. A deficit of 28.3%.

The picture for the UK on the whole is embarrassing, with total income of £672billion against expenditure of £744billion. A deficit of £72billion or 10.7%.

This is some deficit and to put this into context in 2014, the government revenue in Greece amounted to around 81.67 billion euros, while government spending came to around 88.67 billion euros. A deficit of 8.6%.

Although the leaders of the SNP may point to falling oil revenues, it is quite clear that Scotland is an economic basket case.

The Path and survival of the Young Migrant Male to England

Eraser of Love, Going Postal

'Further Renaissance Men and Vessels of high Dojo academia and intelligentsia, disembark to continue their Ulysses Odyssey of the Kentish Hinterlands..' Here , David Attenborough records their migration and mating Patterns to the UK islands... "..Upon the Young male migrants arrival to this fertile Island , his simian brutish desires and underdeveloped homo sapien pineal gland compels him to shit on our green belt and ravage our crops to mark his territory.

His Burning sexual thirst rages after his long journey To this undiscovered Country , and other than quenching his lust by Blurting his load into his fellow unaided child travellers in the back of his Eddie Stopbart Carriage, He must sate his sexual desires and impregnate his toxic missing link seed into the fertile womb of an indigenous Female to this island with her own state funded dwelling .

The force of Nature has driven the young migrant male all his life. As a Young Boy he cultivated much needed crops in the khat fields which were essential for his starving family , eschewing the growing of wheat and maize, as their cultural needs to get off their collective tits was their birthright. It was up to others to provide Food for his starving baby brothers and sisters.

Benjamin Thompson

Noix, Going Postal
Rumford by Gainsborough
He was born in Woburn, Massachusetts in 1753 and was educated in the village school until he was thirteen. Sometimes he would walk the ten miles with an older friend to Cambridge to attend lectures by John Winthrop at Harvard College. At thirteen he was apprenticed to a merchant in Salem and was very successful. He met upper class educated people and strove to emulate them including their interest in science. At this time he started to do experiments on the nature of heat and conversed about them with the friend he went to the lectures with.

He had no standing or prospects until in 1772 he met and charmed a rich widow and married her. This knack with women we will see later. They moved to Portsmouth in New Hampshire where the influence of his wife managed to get him a commission as a Major in the New Hampshire militia.

When the revolution started Benjamin was a man of property and a loyalist. He tried to recruit for the militia and that upset the mob which attacked his house. That decided him to flee to the British lines and leave his wife and child. Since he brought with him information about the rebels he was welcomed . With the British he became an aide to General Gage and Lord George Germain. During this time he carried out experiments on the force produced by gunpowder and the results met with acclaim and were published in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society.

Jihad vs the Crusades

Going Postal
Richard I of England
The Crusades were predominantly a series of religious wars undertaken by the Latin Church between the 11th and 15th centuries; historians cannot agree on any single definition of a crusade, or which specific military campaigns should be included. Crusades were fought for many reasons: to capture Jerusalem, recapture Christian territory or defend Christians in non-Christian lands, resolve conflict among rival Roman Catholic groups, gain political or territorial advantage, or to combat paganism and heresy.

The First Crusade arose after a call to arms in a 1095 sermon by Pope Urban II. Urban urged military support for the Byzantine Empire and its Emperor, Alexios I, who needed reinforcements for his conflict with westward migrating Turks in Anatolia. Although one of Urban's stated aims was to guarantee pilgrims access to the holy sites in the Holy Land that were under Muslim control, scholars disagree whether this was the primary motivation for Urban or for the majority of those who heeded his call. Urban's wider strategy may have been to unite the Eastern and Western branches of Christendom, which had been divided since their split in the East–West Schism of 1054, and establish himself as head of the unified Church. Similarly, some of the hundreds of thousands of people who became crusaders by taking a public vow and receiving plenary indulgences from the church were peasants hoping for Apotheosis at Jerusalem, or forgiveness from God for all their sins. Others, historians argue, participated to satisfy feudal obligations, gain glory and honour, or find opportunities for economic and political gain. Regardless of the motivation, the response to Urban's preaching by people of many different classes across Western Europe established the precedent for later crusades.

Preaching with Kipper : I Love Donald Trump

Going Postal

Donald Trump. The racist endorsed by minorities. The Anti Semite with a Jewish daughter. The xenophobe with a foreign wife. Donald trump is the candidate for American men and women. Not the candidate for whites, not the candidate for blacks, not the candidate for LGBTBBQ's. Donald Trump stands for all Americans. An I am emphatically in love with him.

Going Postal

I love Donald Trump. he is all embracing. He speaks honestly and tells the truth. He is unapologetic in his delivery. He has the balls to call out cunts for being cunts. Hillary. She is a liar a charlatan and a criminal. The Don says it how it is. His opponent is crooked and he doesn't dance around it. He makes sure everyone knows exactly what he thinks about his opponent. And that's why so many of us love him.

Going Postal
Give me your MONEY!

Fact is, of the two candidates it is the Donald who is the one 'up against it all'. Shillary keeps banging on about how she has a vagina and therefore is qualified to be president. And  a vote for Hillary is a vote to 'smash the glass ceiling'. Because after all, the patriarchy has done everything to subjugate Hillary. And because of her gender she is 'up against it'. But no. To say Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton is in anyway 'up against it' is fucking bollocks. The ex first lady, senator and secretary of state Hillary Clinton has a estimated wealth of $30 Million. She has the backing of nearly all Americas MSM. Her campaign has all the 'dirty' wall street, super PAC and hedge fund money. the Democratic party rigged key primaries to make sure she won. The only thing Hillary is up against is the American people who WILL on mass vote for the Don.

Going Postal

Now Daddy Donald has had a whole manner of shit flung at him. And yet. He has still come out of it cleaner than crooked Hillary. Donald survived the Republican primaries. Where the party elites were dead set on screwing the Donald out of the nomination. But his mass public appeal won him the Republican nomination. Donald speaks to the people. He is honest, he says what he believes and that's why he will win come November. Some of his supporters may not fully agree with him, but a man who is honest is a man who can be trusted. Whereas Hillary, well, I'll just say I have yet to find a single issue on which she hasn't flip flopped. Donald is clear about what his political beliefs are. Hillary will tell you what she thinks you want to hear.

Going Postal

America have a candidate who is there to represent the special interests, a candidate that has been bought and paid for. A candidate who is there to ride the gravy train for a few more years. They also have a candidate who has accepted no money form big businesses. A candidate who is not bought, a candidate who wants nothing more than to represent the people of his nation and make America great again.

"Rorschach's Journal. October 12th, 1985: Dog carcass in alley this morning, tire tread on burst stomach. This city is afraid of me. I have seen its true face. The streets are extended gutters and the gutters are full of blood and when the drains finally scab over, all the vermin will drown. The accumulated filth of all their sex and murder will foam up about their waists and all the whores and politicians will look up and shout "Save us!"... and I'll whisper "no."
- Rorschach, Watchmen"

It's time for  a politician to come in and clean up the mess in America. The Donald is that man. He will clear out the careerists, he will clear out the corruption. He will make the office of president one that represents the people not the special interests, banks,  corrupt foreign regimes and most importantly. He will put America first.

Fings ain't what they used to be. Be grateful

Roger Ackroyd, Going Postal
Let’s take a closer look at this picture shall we? What occasion could it possibly be and where and when was it taken? And what did it signify then and what does it say to us today.

OK - let’s start with the date. Around 1910 I’d say and the occasion is probably the christening of the little girl in her mother’s arms. The smaller of the two boys is about 2 and the older is 4. The woman is 27 and is pregnant once more. They are dressed in their Sunday Best and are probably standing at the back door of the Hare of the Dog pub in Franchise Street, Aston, Birmingham. Behind them is the run of back- to-back housing that ran the length of Franchise Street but which has long been demolished. The pub is still to be found there - now at the entrance to Birmingham City University. You can just see the alleyway/ginnel between two houses that leads to the courtyard where this family lived. Communal toilets (not flushing) and communal washroom for some 12 houses. One downstairs room and small kitchen. Two rooms upstairs. And that was it.

Killed, in the name of tolerance

Now. Hay you ever heard of Bradford? It's a city in Yorkshire. It has one of the highest Muslim populations in the UK. 25% of people who live in Bradford are Muslim. I live near Bradford. So despite what any metropolitan, elitist, labour supporting cunt says. Parts of Bradford are ghettoized. I know this. Most people know this. There are places in Bradford that I will not go to because of the colour of my skin. I dread to think what the cunts would do to a lesbian wearing a skimpy dress. But up north we know not to tempt fate. And there are places that women and gays will not go to alone for their own safety. Because we know what it is like here. And those who live near other ghettos in the UK will know what their areas are like. This is the problem in British society. This is the biggest problem facing gays in Britain. The fact that there are areas in their country that they can not go to.

I'd love for Angela Eagle to walk through Bradford with a "I'm a proud, independent lesbian" sign. She wouldn't last 5 minutes.

I know what causes this problem. You know what causes this problem. Fact is most people know what the problem is. Islam. Islam is the problem. It tells it's followers that women are possessions of men, it is perfectly fine to have sex with nine year old girls and that if you are gay you should be killed. However, as a society we are so scared of speaking the truth because we don't want to be labeled racists. There are some of us who have got the balls to put our heads above the parapet and speak the truth. The Nigel Farages , the Donald Trumps, the Milo Yiannopouloses and the Lisa Duffys of the wold. I am not one of these people. I shroud myself in the anonymity of my user profile. Although I'm sure if someone really wanted to they could find out who I am. While I may feel comfortable talking about this in confidence with friends of family. To protect my work, I don't talk about it in public. And I have the utmost respect for those who do talk about it in public. Who put themselves in the firing line. Nevertheless. Slowly but surely. We are getting to a point where we can talk about these issues as a society. And the Don winning in the USofA will only stand to help our social progression.

I have decided that now is the time to take action, albeit somewhat belatedly, against a particularly insidious invasive species which is threatening to take over my beloved garden. I would strongly advise anyone who cares about their garden, and, indeed, about their local environment, to take similar action without delay.

I am uncertain as to the precise origin of the alien invader, neither can I be sure of its proper name but there really is no question at all as to its true nature. If left unchecked it would undoubtedly take over the whole locality for it evidently follows a different set of rules from everything else in my garden, even though in some ways it looks so very similar to a host of other plants. In fact, that is a major factor which this nasty species ruthlessly exploits in order to enable its expansion.

I Was Jezza's Double

DH, Going Postal
"Now, let's go through this one more time," sighed Seumas Milne, holding up two glossy photographs. "This one is Ant, Jeremy. And this one is Dec."

"Ant," he repeated, slowly and deliberately, "and Dec."

The Labour leader stared long and hard at the images with lifeless, glassy eyes.

"Come on Jeremy, you said it before while I was giving you your bath," cooed Milne, encouragingly. "Don't be shy - it's only John."

A long, protracted silence descended upon the Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition's wood paneled Westminster office as the old man gazed unblinkingly at the two photographs.

"Jeremy, please," said Milne, a note of desperation creeping into his voice. "Say it for your old friend John. Ant and Dec."

A pained expression played over his face as he stared into the listless eyes of his leader. The eyes he had first looked into at a Connolly/Sands Commemoration in 1987. The eyes that had once gazed over the splendour of East Germany in its pomp. The eyes that had, where countless others had failed, charmed Diane Abbott into crossing the racial divide.

The heavy silence was broken as five deliberate clicks echoed around the cavernous office. John McDonnell stepped out of the shadowy corner he had been lurking in to stand ominously at Milne's side.

Preaching with Kipper : The Gay Rights Con (Part One)

Going Postal
Now. This may come as a shock to many of you. So brace yourself.

Gay people have rights.

I know. Shocking right. Alas it is the truth. "But Kipper you magnificent lover. If this is so, then why are there so many people pushing for 'Gay Rights'".  Brilliant question. Why are there so many fuckwits pushing for 'Gay Rights'. Well. As a member of the 'Pussy' generation I am in every way entitled to all the money you earn. And you should in no way expect me to work for a living. Because your opinions are hate speech. Why should I have to worry about putting food on the table. You all betrayed me by voting leave. You denied me my 'Europeaness'. You also betrayed my immigrant girlfriend. You cunts. xxx

It's the "ME ME ME ME ME ME ME ME" mentality of lefty.... youngsters, that is fueling the gradual repression of indigenous white heterosexual boys. For as long as I can remember Gay people have had the same rights as heterosexual people. The same goes for men and women and whites and ethnics. The 'Problem' is other peoples opinions. Some people hold opinions that 'upset' other people. And because people hold opinions that 'upset' the lef... whiny teens. There must be a push for 'Gay Rights'. Gay rights are rights that gay people and only gay people have. They are privileges under the law that give gay people more of an advantage in life than heterosexual people. And once again, the same goes for Women over men. And ethnics over whites.

Parental Responsibility, a Sugar Tax for the Sensible

Coloniescross, Going Postal
Friday was always a very special day in the Penstock household. It was the day when Joe and Eugenie Penstock got to see their three children and four grandchildren all together. It wasn’t so much a gathering, more a ritual. Gena had been out to the market and bought 12 small pieces of fresh cod, as she always did on Friday and there was a mountain of chips soaking in a large enamel bowl ready for the Friday fry. Already on the gas hob was a pan of real mushy peas which had been steeped over night and then simmered into a bright green glorious sludge, ready for lashings of malt vinegar.

Gathered in the back kitchen (posh folk called it the dining room) were Rory (Joe and Gena’s eldest) with his wife Renee and their daughter Julia,  a pregnant Jean Cross (the middle daughter), her husband Charlie and their son Colin and Noreen (the youngest of Joe and Gena’s kids)with her husband Bill , their son Stephen and daughter Elaina. Gena was in the kitchen, being her usual busy self and the four kids were sat under the table eagerly awaiting Granddad Joe. Joe locked up his shoe repairing business, which he operated from a shed in his garden, at 5 o’clock prompt on Fridays, tea was at half past and there was the Friday sixpence to dole out before then.

Joe entered the room with a broad smile on his face.  Over his shirt, tie, waistcoat and trousers he wore a brown smock coat which smelled pleasantly of a mix of leather, wax and rubber solution. “Now then you lot, ‘ow are we all”? A chorus of “Alright thanks Dad”, and “Grand Joe, how’s thissen” answered him.  “Grand tha knows, now where are them four little devils”?

Paradox

Jethro, Going Postal
Jethro’s First Paradox: runs somewhat like this: ‘It is the slow driver who’s in front, the fast driver is always at the tail-end.’ There are other, more famous ones, such as Zeno’s ‘Achilles and the Tortoise’, for instance -   Achilles is in a race with the tortoise. Achilles allows the tortoise a head start of 100 yards, for example. If we suppose that each racer starts running at some constant speed (one very fast and one very slow), then after some finite time, Achilles will have run 100 yards, bringing him to the tortoise's starting point. During this time, the tortoise has run a much shorter distance, say, 10 yards. It will then take Achilles some further time to run that distance, by which time the tortoise will have advanced farther; and then more time still to reach this third point, while the tortoise moves ahead. Thus, whenever Achilles reaches somewhere the tortoise has been, he still has farther to go. Therefore, because there is an infinite number of points Achilles must reach where the tortoise has already been, he can never overtake the tortoise; then there’s Aristotle’s paradox of Place: if everything that exists has a place, then Place too must have a place... and so on into an infinite regress, and Russell’s, based on sets, ‘Think of the set, which we call A, which contains exactly ‘all sets which do not contain themselves’. Now, we ask ourselves: does A contain itself? If we try to claim that A does indeed contain itself, then we run into a contradiction, because we just said that every set belonging to A ‘cannot’ contain itself. But if we try to claim that A does not contain itself - which is the same as saying that A does not belong to itself - we're no better off, because we constructed A such that it contains all sets which do not contain themselves, which would include A.’ Having had something of an interest in Theology, I like Tertullian’s: "The Son of God was crucified: there is no shame, because it is shameful. And the Son of God died: it is wholly credible, because it is unsuitable. And, buried, He rose again: it is certain, because impossible." [Crucifixus est Dei Filius, non pudet, quia pudendum est; et mortuus est Dei Filius, prorsus credibile est, quia ineptum est; et sepultus resurrexit, certum est, quia impossibile.

Hard Labour

Truthsayer, Going Postal

Another summer, another Labour leadership contest. Here we go again.

Last summer’s shenanigans were pure comedy. We all filled up Order Order’s pages with jokes and backslaps as the Labour fraternity went into overdrive seeking to fill the leader’s boots following the departure of Red Ed. Let’s face it: the boots were neither big, nor well filled, but that is a tale for another time.

I have to confess that I expected better. Following the GE defeat I had one of those rare weekends where Her Indoors did not work for a day and was not averse to me going fishing. So I bought a Graun (or Observer), pitched up, chucked the carp rods out, brewed up and read up on the defeated’s take on their sorry situation. It was very enjoyable.

Lots of different lefties, lots of different metrolibbies, lots of different versions of what happened and what should have happened. A few of them even got close to the facts. However, my favourite was Toynbee’s article despairing that our position in Europe was now at risk; we should be so lucky I thought.

The summer rolled on, the leadership rules became clearer, the candidates began to flip flop and coalesce. Chucker came and went. Our Jezza was floated.

Preaching With Kipper : UKIP

Going Postal

After much consideration and research, this Kipper has come to a decision as to whom he will be voting for in the UKIP leadership election.

It wasn't easy either. I attended a hustings for the leadership candidates. I have to say I was wholly unimpressed with the format of it all. The candidates were given 5 minutes for an introductory statement. Then there was a break and the audience could submit questions. Then of the questions submitted, at random, each candidate chose 2. The candidates were then given 2 minutes to answer these questions and the others were given 30 seconds to elaborate upon or challenge the answer the candidate answering the question gave.

Yeah, complicated as fuck right. And totally unnecessarily too. It's not like the questions had to be vetted to filter out any stupid ones from leftoids. This was a UKIP event, I had to register and show my membership card upon arrival. I wasn't even allowed to take Mrs K.

Mrs Philpotts from No 27.

JWP, Going Postal

I’ve lived in this house for 84 years. I was born in the back bedroom. I grew up here and when I married Herbert mother and father said we could have the house as a wedding present as long as they could have the back parlour. Father went thirty years ago and mother in 1999. Then my Herbert just three years ago. He’d suffered. For the last five years he couldn’t get out of his chair; Diabetes and COPD made life a misery for him, so he’s in a better place now. I miss him but I know it won’t be long. Most of my sand is in the bottom of the hourglass so it’s just a matter of waiting for the last few grains to drop through.

I’ve seen some changes in this street. I remember when the little slipper factory was still going. Most of us worked there at some time or another. That was my first job and that’s where I met Bessy. She was my best friend and we we had some fun together. Her mum and dad had the corner shop for donkey’s years but when she married Cyril they went off to the Isle of Man. We kept in touch by letter, then about five years ago I didn’t get a Christmas card, so I think she must have died. I did have a phone number somewhere but God knows where it’s gone. I must sort that sideboard out.

It was about 1965 when the change really started. I’d never seen a coloured person before and was quite surprised to see those bright orange and rose pink outfits fluttering past my front window. It felt a bit exotic at first. They never spoke. Then, one by one the faces I knew moved away and were replaced by more families from abroad.

Preaching with Kipper : Remain Tears The Sequel

Kipper, Going Postal
Just finished watching Laura cuntsberg's documentary on BREXIT. By jolly the BEEB aren't even trying to hide their bitterness over the result. They've pulled out all the old characters. Ken Clarke telling us how holding the referendum as a mistake to begin with. How the referendum shouldn't have happened because no one expected the Tories to win a majority. They even pulled on what looked like a random homeless bloke called 'Nick Clegg' who basically started crying because he loves Europe so much or something. The fella seemed like he might have been on the spectrum or something like that.

You can clearly tell Laura is uncomfortable interviewing the leavers yet she seems perfectly comfortable with the treacherous remainers.

Anna Sourcunt was incensed that remain didn't have an answer to immigration. LOLZ

There's more than one way to destroy a country

Stay Puft, Going Postal
Stay Puft, destroyer of worlds
I had an epiphany not long ago. Unfortunately it wasn’t a happy epiphany. In fact, it was the very opposite. But I’ll come to that shortly.

First, I’ll begin with what eventually led to my epiphany. I sometimes like to escape into fantasy or daydreams as a way to salve moments of despondency or those periods in which one despairs at the state of the world, and one of the things I like to ponder on is the idea of going into stasis so that I can wake up 100 years from now. As a somewhat eternal optimist, and admittedly perhaps a naïve one, I like to believe that no matter how terrible things are in the world now, surely things will be better in the far future. I’d like to believe that the people of Earth in 2116 will not be living with the daily threat of islamic terrorism and that Britain has not become a nation defined entirely by mosques, halal meat, child grooming and FGM.

When discussing this fantasy scenario with others, it has been pointed out to me that life in 2116 would be so vastly different to what I’m used to that it would be virtually impossible to adapt and become acclimatised. This is certainly true. When one considers the pace of technological advances in only the last 30 years, we can’t begin to imagine what will happen over the next hundred.

The Anti British Broadcasting Collective (Part One)

Coloniescross, Going Postal

People often ask me “What IS your problem with the BBC”?

The BBC is a long established and supposedly cherished national institution. It has an heraldic coat of arms with 2 eagles supporting a shield, helmet and globe, with the motto “Nation shall Speak unto Nation” in scroll across the bottom. Laudable indeed and no doubt well intentioned in the third decade of the 20th century, but I would imagine, though I cannot be certain, that this is viewed as somewhat passé by the great and good now in charge of the organisation.   More apposite are the organisations founding principles which are encapsulated in the phrase “To Inform, Educate and Entertain”.

So, we have an organisation, funded mainly by a legally enforceable tax that only exists to deliver the above. It is bound, by its own charter, to do so without bias or favour.

Any right thinking person would say, at this point, so far so good. Why wouldn’t a civilised nation, a nation that has given the world so much in terms of language, sport, education and generally civilised behaviour continue to give, not only its own citizens but to all the citizens of the world, an unbiased news service designed to inform, a range of documentary and factual programmes designed to educate and a broad range of drama, comedy, light entertainment and human interest for the purposes of entertainment?

Part One; To Inform

In my limited and naive way I understood the phrase “to inform” meant, so far as is humanly possible, the delivery of a clear and precise factual account of events.  Never did I believe that news would become a form of entertainment verging on voyeurism, full of lies, half truths and sensationalist celebrity pap. Neither did I think, again in my naivety, that the “news” would be used, more and more frequently to push forward the global liberal agenda. Surely, even given its institutional left wing liberal bias the BBC would be bigger than that. How wrong can I be?

Only last weekend I was informed, by BBC news, that Oscar Pistorious may have injured himself falling out of bed, they then went on to tell me, because I am obviously too stupid to remember, that Mr Pistorious is serving “life” for murdering a woman call Reeva Steenkamp.  That his whole trial and re-trial were endlessly broadcast in the “news”, as they happened, matters not. I still need reminding.

During the same bulletin I was informed that a mentally ill Norwegian man was being charged with the murder of an American tourist and the serious assault of 5 other people. This attack was carried out, spontaneously and without motive, in an area of London some miles from where the perpetrator lived and it had nothing whatsoever to do with Islam or terrorism.  You see what they did there, the murder of Ms Steenkamp  was, and continues to be “news”, a frenzied machete attack in London is only “news” so long as the BBC deems it to be so and only on the BBC’s terms.

During the rest of this week, all courtesy of the BBC (I know, I’m a glutton for punishment) we have been treated to the UKIP leadership candidate Bill Ethridge appearing on R4 Today, ostensibly to talk about his policy stance, being browbeaten because he once praised Hitler’s ability as a speaker and the fact that he once posed with a golliwog. Mr Ethridge tried, with all good grace, to get the interview on track but he simply wasn’t allowed, serious journalism? You be the judge.

We were then given the full BBC treatment in regard to the innocuous remark made by Donald Trump regarding the US Second amendment. Only someone suffering from serious levels of paranoia or stupid could have construed what Mr Trump said as incitement to assassinate but the liberal US media and the Democratic machine promoted this view.  The BBC, god love them, were only too happy to promulgate it. By the end of the day they were more or less saying that Donald Trump had ordered Hillary Clintons murder. Clever though, having planted the seed they then dropped the story, never look back, never apologise is the motto de jour.

Today (Thursday 11/08/2016) they bring us the “news” of a Brexit induced housing crisis of epic proportions based on the fact that mortgages have never been cheaper or more sought after for first time buyers, price inflation is slowing down and it is July, the slowest month in the calendar for house buying. Again, put it out there, blame Brexit, hope some of it sticks and move on to the riveting “hula hoop challenge”

For me though, this week’s truly telling example of the BBC approach toward “informing” was the news that because the Remain campaign had not discussed immigration Leave had been allowed to take the popular ground in the referendum. This had led to the stupid and ill informed voting “in the wrong way”. This “news” turned out to be nothing more than a commercial to “inform” me that yet another “documentary” about Brexit was to be aired on the BBC and, because this viewer is stupid, they ran the 52%/48% graphic in case I’d forgotten the result.

In coming weeks I want to take a look at the Educating and Entertaining bits.

News and current affairs, excluding presenters spends over £53 million on its senior and middle management, cheap at half the price if you ask me.

The Choice America and the World Faces

Rorschach, Going Postal

In only a matter of months the United States goes to the polls to elect a new President and the world's most powerful person. For the world then, this is a very consequential election with massive ramifications depending on who wins. There is on one side the continuity candidate in Hillary Clinton, the former First Lady and Secretary of State in President Obama's administration who takes a more hawkish stance or world affairs than the current incumbent and still damaged by her role in the Libya intervention debacle which led to the death of the American ambassador.

Her opponent for the Presidency is billionaire tycoon and former reality television presenter Donald Trump, whose previous forays into politics included involving himself in conspiracy theories concerning President Obama's place of birth. Similar to his changing political positions on domestic issues, Trump has contradicted himself numerous times on foreign affairs. In 2002 he supported invading Iraq, but reversed himself when the war broke out apparently due to having a financial interest in opposing it. In an interview with Wolf Blitzer on CNN in 2007 he decried the war in Iraq, sounding almost leftist in tone as he criticised the "up to a million" Iraqis who died and the death and destruction caused by air strikes. Yet that same year, he endorsed the idea of attacking Iran: "I believe you have to go in and strike Irannot with soldiers. You know, it’s not a world of soldiers anymore. It’s a world of air." In 2011, he questioned the rationale of intervening in Libya, making a good point on the dubious composition of the rebels but went on to propose the US seize control of Libya and Iraq's oil for itself.

Preaching With Kipper: Trident

Kipper, Going Postal

I believe, wholeheartedly, that the United Kingdom should have an independent Nuclear Deterrent. I am also an advocate of the Untied Kingdom having a codified (Written) constitution. And the first clause of that constitution should be that the British people are entitled to have their nation defended by Independent Nuclear Weapons capable of glassing our enemies (However the conversation over a written British constitution is one for another day). Our national defense should not be something that feckless politicians are fee to vote upon. It is a matter of national defense. And therefore, I believe, should be a matter for the PM and military. Not one for dumb ass politicians.

I speak, of course, as someone who was born after the fall of the Soviet Union. I did not live through the Cold War, Cuban missile crisis and J.F.K reportedly being seconds away from authorizing a nuclear strike. However I have been alive to see what happened to last nation that decided to do rid with its independent nuclear program. You may have heard of it, they had a chunk of their nation annexed by Russia. There's now in a massive civil war there. All kinds of shit is kicking off there. If you hadn't guessed the country is Ukraine. I doubt Putin would have invaded a nation which had the capability to glass Moscow.

Send in the Clowns

Without any particular reason, no round anniversary or that sort of thing, I would like us all to remember Pippa Bacca.

“Pippa who?”, I hear you say. Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, a.k.a. Pippa Bacca, was an Italian conceptual and performance “artiste” born in 1974 who in 2008, had the bright idea to hitchhike her way from Milan to the Middle East in a wedding dress.

2008 was also the year Pippa died.

Guardian Council, Going Postal

Pippa was a member of the “Brides on Tour” who departed from Milan on March 8 of that year.

They were all “artistes” and had earlier decided, while enjoying a legal high of organic biscuits and cheap lemonade I’m sure, to travel across the Middle East in an effort to boost “peace and trust”, as the late Pippa’s sister put it ex post factum (that’s Latin for “after Pippa was cold and a bit long in the tooth by now”).

Left Behind

Truthsayer, Going Postal

For those of us who not only voted Leave, but actively supported it in all its guises, some of the most interesting aspects of the aftermath of victory is watching our opponents go through various stages of psychological processes as they come to terms with defeat. You can tell a lot about an enemy just by how they behave. This lot are an unbelievable rabble. Not for them the quiet retirement from the field, to reflect in a dignified way on their loss, and perhaps to learn some lessons. Normally it is said that victory has a thousand fathers while defeat is an orphan.

This defeat is no orphan. Thousands, possibly millions, have knee-jerked their way to hash tags, slogans, petty posters, as well as EU flags for their irrelevant social media accounts. The hypocrisy of the calls for another referendum, the obvious contradiction of claiming Leave won by lies whilst Remain battled on the basis of Project Fear, are both utterly ignored.

Preaching With Kipper: My Favorite Athlete

Kipper, Going Postal
I study at and therefore live near a University. This means on a daily basis I have to put up with weirdo... sorry SJW's, feminists, heterosexual LGBTBBQ activists and so on. At my university there are 'demonstrations' on a weekly basis. A more accurate description for what happens is a few fat birds show up and mull around a table calling everyone they encounter racist or something along those lines. I'm still bewildered over how they get the money to buy the absolutely fucking ridiculous number of leaflets they distribute. I honestly thought that the number of 'demonstrations' would subside when everyone broke up. Oh how naive I was. There must be fewer than 200 students that are still in the area. And yet every week there are at least two 'demonstrations'. Which I have to walk past when I go to the gym.

Now Mrs K despises them, but I like them. I really do. There's noting more enjoyable than arguing the toss with a fat, sweaty, probably woman, after a morning gym sesh. Unfortunately most of them won't talk to me as, ya know, my opinions are hate crimes n'all. So my post gym arguments are now a rarity. Although it is rather amusing to watch 5 foot tall 20 stone wankpuffins body-shame Mrs K for "Having big arms" while simultaneously shouting about 'positive body image'. For the uninitiated 'positive body image' means fat is sexy and acceptable. Whereas healthy is evil and unhealthy. Oh hypocrisy and double, how they make me chortle.

Hallelujah sinners!

I’d like to thank those of the congregation that have written in, etc since the referendum, it was difficult to know whether the site would survive the result and whether the contributors, commenters and readers would keep coming.  Looking at the June, July comparison below we’re doing well so far. August will be quieter going on last week's numbers but the school holidays are over in September and the new Parliamentary session opens
. It will be interesting to see if we can grow from there.  Having said that there were plenty of you commenting yesterday. You've all done very well.

Edinburgh Fringe: Keith Barrons Non Stop Ecstatic Dancing

Eraser of Love, Going Postal

A Nice piece on Sky news re the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this morning It made me want to boak up in the habitat basket. A Mouldering, Organic, filthy nest of Thx 1138 Middle class, Barber shop ,T cell count hivers and same sex loving Shamen shaking their Ju Ju stick of myrth at Brexit, Ukip and its voters , Farage and Trump. Two of these Sneering PlayWrights, who were obviously dulled by prescription Opiates stolen from Mothers Medicine Cabinet, were Sprawled out in some fucking vegan Cafe on bean bags whilst being interviewed by SKY as if they were Richards and Jagger being interviewed by Ben fong Torres and Lester Bangs in the summer of 1973 in a bedouin tent surrounded by hairless young boys for latent casual fucking in a fug of shisha pipe smoke. What Wilful Cunts. What Amoeba Assassins. Splayed out akin a couple of Oliver Postgate bookends and arrogantly drinking in the snivelling homage and Ever so Humble Platitudes dished out by SKY like their the Soft Cell Muse Cindy Ecstasy or Leigh Bowery Haughtily dropping in at the Blitz Club with his Horsemeat and Fuckpiece, Trojan. Slags. To listen to the reporter your'd think he just discovered Lou Reed at Warhols Factory and not in actual fact, the commensurate Joe Meek Protege, 'Heinz'.

The sin of sins

Gmbd, Going Postal
this continues from my first submission that the management kindly posted.
I said how incredibly lucky I was to have been born in a society open to ideas.
In fact my Geography teacher, who we all thought to be a bit of a dick, actually said "You don't know how lucky you are to have been born English"
I would agree with his sentiment.
Now previously I explained that I had a misfortune with my ex wife which caused me to question all and everything and I did come to the conclusion that PRIDE is a harmful thing for a mentality.
I examined it and examined it and I can say that PRIDE will do you harm.
Why do I say that, OK it is because you cannot control everything.
It seems like it when you are young but it is not so, if you go with the flow then eventually you will hit a rock. There is nothing you can do about this, it is there, you are moving in currents you do not fully comprehend.

Beware the Lunatics

Judas was paid, Going Postal

I have some vivid memories of playground experiences during my childhood years. I remember a young girl called Jackie who showed me my first lady willy. I remember Stephen who offered me a tune, no, not the sung variety but a cherry menthol. I also remember the day the lunatics escaped from the asylum.

We were playing hopscotch when suddenly there appeared close by a posse of ruddy faced and panic stricken classmates. I can see in my mind’s eye the terror in the face of one of the lads, half hidden behind his sky blue National Health specs and squint correcting bandage. “There’s loonies on the loose! There’s loonies on the estate.” With all the haste we could manage we ran across to the three-foot-high stone wall that was our only security against the outside world. “There!” he cried; “There they are; can you see them?” I could not see them for love nor money. “Where? Where?” “There down the Meadow!” I lived on the Meadow. Surely these loonies weren’t near to my house? Mum was there alone. How terrible if I should get home and find that Mum had been graped and foraged (or whatever it was that lunatics did!).

Five minutes of eyeball straining passed by and eventually, intrigued by our anxious cries a teacher approached; Mrs Henthorne wanted to know what all the fuss was about and why were we leaning over the wall. “The loonies are on the loose Miss. There’s loonies loose in the Meadow.” She cast a longer stare than we could manage across the landscape of the estate. “All I can see is sheets boys; white sheets blowing in the wind. It’s washday.”

That was my introduction to madness. That’s what we called it in those days. It wasn’t mental illness, it was madness, a derangement of the normal thought processes. Mad people were described as having their wires crossed or brains that has become softened by wicked thoughts. They were rightly locked away from normal people like us.

The local nuthouse was in Chester, twelve miles away, a gaunt Victorian building known as The Deva. Years later I had a friend whose late mother had died in The Deva. She clawed the walls by day and screeched at the ceiling by night. “Did you go to see her?” I enquired. “I wrote letters,” he said, looking at the floor.

How times change.

Madness is different these days. For some inexplicable reason it has become synonymous with violence, even with murder. These gross acts were once understood as emanating from minds that were wicked, evil, maladjusted. They were rarely seen as being symptoms of an illness. People were intelligent beings, and although their view of the world and of other people might become distorted or infected by wild imaginings, they were considered to be responsible for their actions.

I don’t know what it was that sent my friend’s mum over the edge. I don’t think he knew either. All he had to go on was the fact that she acted strangely and was considered enough of a threat to herself and others to be locked up where she could get the appropriate treatment and be confined in a place of relative safety. It was not a nice place, but it was the best that was available. One thing I do know was that there was no talk of radicalisation, or of any other ‘-isation’ that might have contributed to her madness. She was just mad and that was sad.

Judas was paid, Going Postal
Today’s madness is outside, it seems. It does not come from within. It is something that comes to us from another place rather than being a state that we arrive at by ourselves. It happens when we are exposed to forces that take a grip on our understanding, that skew our view of the world and those who live within it. Ideas, creeds, suggestions, political theories; these, they say, conspire to deflect us from the sanity that is the normal state of the mind. In short, the violent are relieved of having any contribution to make to their own state of mind. Should we step out into the street with a machete in our pocket intent on slicing and cubing our neighbours and be successful in our ambition, there will be many who will search around the detritus of our lives looking for reasons. What was it that made us like this? What ‘possessed’ us?

In ancient times the mad were considered to be inhabited by evil spirits. They were cast out of the towns and villages to live amongst the tombstones. There, they could cry to the moon to their heart’s discontent. It seems that we are returning to that past when we seek to find excuses for the murderous treachery of those who live alongside us. The idea that they are evil is just too difficult, too inconvenient to accept, but the evil ones are legion. Such murders are a weekly occurrence. Bombs, blades and bullets pierce, blast and slice their way through innocent and unsuspecting flesh and rational, scientific twenty-first century men and women revert to a first century diagnosis……..the perpetrators are men possessed, mad, lunatics……..not murderers, thugs, or killers. That would be unacceptable and a judgement too far.

With each new outrage I ask, “How many times………?” It seems to me that like the sheets, the truth is blowing in the wind.

Duran Duran - Rio

If we are going to have this then it has to be the eighties original video. More nostalgia.

Astrud Gilberto & Stan Getz, The Girl From Ipanema, 1964

"Garota de Ipanema" ("The Girl from Ipanema") is a Brazilian bossa nova jazz song. It was a worldwide hit in the mid-1960s and won a Grammy for Record of the Year in 1965. It was written in 1962, with music by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Portuguese lyrics by Vinicius de Moraes. English lyrics were written later by Norman Gimbel. Wiki

Nostalgia, It Just Isn’t What It Used To Be

Coloniescross, Going Postal
Colin Cross arrived home from work to discover the hallway of his house full of cardboard boxes, large plastic bags and assorted household detritus, the under stairs cupboard door was open and he could hear Mrs Cross chuntering away to herself.

“Now then Mrs Cross” Colin said “What are you up to”?

“You know the girls are up this weekend, well Kate asked if I could dig out her old Button Moon books, she wants to give them to Theresa’s kids”.  “Fair enough” said Colin, “Owt else of any interest under there”? His wife came out of the cupboard with an old Jacobs Cream Cracker tin which she handed to him, “have a look in there” she said.

Colin opened the tin and surveyed the contents.  Memories of his childhood, long consigned to the back of his mind, came flooding back, in amongst the old coins, photographs and various knick knacks was a set of jacks and a ball, a couple of his dads Cheltenham badges from his days as a bookies clerk and the dull brass casing of a .303 bullet.

Icky Stuff

Colliemum, Going Postal

Well, you asked for more icky stuff, so here is some. Don’t complain to me afterwards!

Anyway, if you think all this ‘gender fluidity’ and transgenderism is some weird newfangled thing invented by bored Millennials and SJWs, you better think again.Animals have been there long before even the first human trod the earth - and we all know that the Flintstones were pretty straight when it came to sex.

So here are three examples, and yes, they are icky.

User-names, friends!

LeftyLiesRefuted, Going Postal
Hello, friends.

Well, just for a change, here's an almost entirely serious post from me!  And it's about all the user-names that most of us (there are a few people here who post under their real names) use, on Disqus, and on other websites, e.g. the Guardian.

I've noticed, in the couple of years since I first opened my Disqus account, that a lot of people change their user-name, and have often wondered about the possible reasons for this.  Is it because they get bored with a particular name? Or is it to get round a ban (I guess that happens a lot with the Guardian!)?  Or has the old user-name somehow become out-of-date?  I'd be interested to hear the reasons, if anyone here is willing to tell!

What is Islam?

Guardian Council, Going Postal
A lot has been said about Islam being a Religion of Peace, at every occasion in the past couple of weeks and occasions there have been, sadly, many. In the light of an increasing number of terror attacks it may have dawned on an increasing number of people that some devotees of Islam have rather atrocious ideas about peace. Yet, another question that could be raised against this backdrop may be whether Islam qualifies as a religion at all. In order to qualify as a religion, a belief system must adhere to two principals: it must A) uphold the universal sanctity of life and B) be beneficial to emulate for all of mankind (A is the necessary and B is the sufficient condition). All major religions fulfil both conditions, except Islam maybe.

Considering what has been happening in the last two decades it seems to be pertinent to raise a few question about the nature of Islam. We have seen people murdered in its name, Muslim and Non-Muslim alike. We have witnessed some of the most brutal and heinous crimes imaginable in our lifetimes. Planes have been flown into skyscrapers, masses of people have been suicide-bombed, kidnapped, beheaded, crucified, thrown from tall buildings and even skinned alive in the name of Islam. Maybe this should give people pause to think about what Islam really is. And yes, more and more people notice something is very, very wrong with the official take on events. Repeatedly, we’ve been told Islamism wasn’t the true Islam but a corrupted form of one of the great monotheistic religions of this world. To tell Islamism and Islam apart has become a much-loved pleasure the self-styled media and political “elite” enjoy at dinner tables across the country. But to differentiate between Islam and Islamism is not a mainstay of Islam itself. Consequently, all that results from this rhetorical trickery is an entirely Western mirage of “The Religion of Peace” whereas in reality Islam sees itself in a constant struggle, a.k.a. “jihad”, with itself. But more importantly with unbelievers, apostates and wrong-believers, particularly those in more developed countries.
